Description for MAPA Board
Metropolitan Activity Professional Association
Job Summary:
The Treasurer
of MAPA shall keep records of all cash flow within MAPA.
Keep in contact with Membership Chair. Maintain a current listing of paid members.
Keep board members informed of financial records including bottom line and
budget limits.
Term of Office:
The Treasurer is
voting member and elected term length of 2 years and may serve multiple terms
as elected.
Elections will take place at the Fall Business Meeting. Then a
transition period will take place with the out-going officers.
Transition to
include an orientation of position and transfer of files. The Treasurer will take
full MAPA office responsibility
before January 1st of the new ‘even’
membership year.

Board and the MAPA membership.
Requirements:

organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Member
in good standing of MAPA.
- Work
with other Region Six related associations
- Perform
duties and responsibilities of their position in an ethical manner as relates to
the By-laws, policy and job description.
- Be
prepared to give report or address issues as called upon at MAPA meetings.
- Computer
skills
- Good
with numbers and finance.
Time Commitment:
4+ Board meetings
5 Sessions (1/2
& full days)

Treasurer Responsibilities:
- Attend
all Executive Board meetings and special meetings.
- Promote
and uphold the by-laws, goals, mission and objectives of the MAPA organization
and provide direction for the future goals of MAPA.
- Maintain
an organizational file of appropriate documents, minutes, letters and other
association information.
- Review
and update this job description as needed at the first Board meeting of the
year.
- Take
an active role in the board.
- Submit
appropriate expenses for reimbursement with prior approval of President staying
within budget allotment.
- Present
a report on current MAPA activities at meetings.
- Submit
MAPA articles on time.
- Record,
receipt and enter all incoming funds to the association.
- Record
payment of all expenditures of the association.
- Maintain
the financial records of the association and maintain a file of all check
request vouchers.
- Prepare
checks for payment of vouchers within ten (10) days of receiving vouchers. Present vouchers and receipts to the
President for approval and signature. Mail appropriate payments.
- Assist
the President with the development of the yearly budget and prepare quarterly
reports to be presented to the Executive Board Members for review and approval.
- Prepare
the yearly financial report, with a copy to the President.
- Assist
with registration, receiving payment for new memberships and workshop fees.
- Make
arrangements with a federally insured financial institution for the
association’s checking account which includes: making arrangements for the checks to be signed by either the Treasurer
or President (within 10 days of the transfer of position). In addition, make any necessary adjustments
in the address or signatures needed as the need arises.
